Joining the IAIM, Canada - AIMB, Canada® Board
Every two years, the members of IAIM, Canada - AIMB, Canada® appoint a new Board at the General Assembly. Members can be nominated by other people or nominate themselves to join for the two year period by contacting info@iaim-aimbcanada.org prior to the General Assembly in November 2021.
According to the IAIM, Canada - AIMB, Canada® Bylaws, the Board must be made up of between 4 and 13 members, with at least one bilingual person.
There are a number of fulfilling roles that can be taken on once you join the Board. It can be an opportunity to use your previous experience or jump on the challenge of learning a new role. It can also be the chance to practice your language skills as the Board works in both English and French.
Some of the roles are best taken on by people who have previous experience on the Board or working on other Boards; these include the role of President, Vice-President and Chapter Representative. However, there are many roles which can be learned on-the-job with the help of past Board members and some passion and enthusiasm for these tasks! These include the role of Treasurer, Communications Coordinator, Website Manager, Secretary, Membership Coordinator, Administrator, among others.
Organization, enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism are the key skills that we need!
