IAIM, Canada – AIMB, Canada® is a diverse network of kind, caring and professional people who share the desire to promote nurturing touch for the wellbeing of babies and their parents. Being a part of this Association gives you the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, to learn from one another and support each other in your goals for infant massage. The Canada Chapter has over 300 active members.
Events
As a member, we welcome you to events organized by IAIM, Canada – AIMB, Canada®. Every two years, you have the opportunity to attend the General Assembly and Education Conference. We endeavor to make it accessible to everyone. The Conference offers you a chance to meet fellow colleagues, to take part in a stroke review session and listen to informative presentations by experts. The next event is scheduled for fall 2022.
Continuing Professional Education
We are committed to finding opportunities for further education and training through partnerships with relevant organizations such as online webinars or access to industry events and presentations.
Periodically, IAIM International trainers offer stroke review sessions to CIMIs. These events provide you with a chance to brush up on your technique and hear latest developments from the trainers. Taking part in a stroke review, will count as continuing professional development and you will be awarded a certificate for your records. It also allows you to connect with other CIMIs.
Please note: As a CIMI, you are required to take part in a stroke review every two years to keep your knowledge and skills up to date.
Promotion
As an individual, you are entitled to use the IAIM name and logo in the promotion of your work as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor. For example, you may wish to include the logo on your website or describe the work of IAIM in presentations to potential clients. Aligning your work as an infant massage instructor with the largest and most experienced association for infant massage in the world brings with it many rewards!
You must be a member of an IAIM Chapter (Canada or elsewhere in the world) to promote yourself as a CIMI. If you are working for an organization that wishes to promote your status as a CIMI, the organization is welcome to link to the IAIM, Canada - AIMB, Canada® website but it cannot use the logo.
Insurance
Being a member of a professional body such as IAIM, Canada – AIMB, Canada® will help you to obtain affordable professional liability insurance. Once you become certified, we can send you links to associations and insurance companies, which recognize and accept IAIM and CIMIs as education providers. We encourage you to make inquiries and choose the ones that suit your particular needs. Please note: it is your responsibility to ensure you have proper liability insurance coverage prior to offering classes.
News
IAIM, Canada – AIMB, Canada® will send you regular online news-bulletins periodically via email. The news-bulletins contain latest news and events from the Canada Chapter and IAIM International, as well as topical articles relevant to your work. As IAIM, Canada – AIMB, Canada® is a bilingual organization, all of our communication is available in both English and French.
Website
Our website includes a list of upcoming events by IAIM or relevant partners, information about the Chapter, the Board and the upcoming training and stroke review sessions.
CIMIs are entitled to have their name and contact details listed on the website to assist with promoting your infant massage classes to interested parents in your area. Let us know if you would like to be included.
In the Member Area section of the website, you will find useful articles and an archive of newsletters. This is also where the IAIM logo can be located.
Online Store
We have an array of supplies and marketing material to help CIMIs teach and promote their classes. As a member, you have full access to the online store via our new website. (Please note, our warehouse is temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 situation).
Worldwide Membership
As a CIMI, you are part of a worldwide organization and for this reason, you are allowed to work anywhere in the world as long as you are a member of an IAIM Chapter. To work as a CIMI internationally, simply contact the new country Chapter or your International Chapter Representative and provide proof of IAIM Certification and current membership.
